Rameshwaram is a popular tourist destination in Tamil Nadu. It is considered as a holy place of country and also one of the four dhams of Hinduism. Rameshwaram is an island of Lord Rama’s temple; it is a happening holiday spot too.

Down south the island of Rameshwaram is Dhanushkodi. The place derived its name from the dhanush or bow of Lord Rama and is believed to have been the starting point of the bridge that was built by the monkey forces of Lord Rama to access Sri Lanka.

The climate of Rameshwaram is tropical over the year. Best time to visit between the months of October to April. This is the time when the weather is extremely pleasant and is ideal for sightseeing as well as water sports. In the summers, weather is hot and humid and temperatures reach 38 degree C. In month of July, that is rainy season and it ends in September.

By Rail- Rameshwaram railway station is well connected and has regular train to Rameshwaram from other major cities of the country.
